This book is always my go-to when someone needs a more classic, kids book recommendation. This is a silly, lighthearted book, that is timeless in its own way. The entire book consists of Grover trying to prevent you from turning the pages, as there is a “monster at the end of this book”. The further you get, the more terrified he becomes. I remember as a child, my parents playing up the story and finding it incredibly amusing. Of course, by the ending of the book, the big “monster reveal” is someone we’ve known the whole time. If you like goofy humor, and Sesame Street characters, this book is a good, cheap find.
